the 4 week pottery wheel course
PIANTE DESIGN ceramics team is offering an exciting pottery workshop for those who have always dreamt of learning the pottery wheel. This immersive workshop spans over four weeks, and during this time, you will receive expert guidance from our experienced instructor.
At this workshop, you will not only get your hands dirty but embrace the experience with enthusiasm. We will equip you with valuable tricks and skills to become a capable thrower. You will start by learning the basics of throwing simple shapes such as cylinders (cups and mugs), bowls, and vases. Beyond throwing clay on the wheel, you will also learn vital techniques of trimming and shaping your pots. Furthermore, you will uncover the art of underglazing and decorating your creations using our extensive palette of underglazes.
While throwing clay requires dedication and practice, by the end of this workshop, we are confident that you will be able to take home pieces of work that fill you with pride.

THE PRICE

Week 1 - Introduction to the potter's wheel and how to setup the wheel and start learning how to throw basic forms.
Week 2 - Expanding your throwing techniques and learning how to trim, join handles & style your pieces.
Week 3 - Expanding your trimming, carving & joining skills.
Week 4 - Learning how to underglaze your pieces.
THE FINE PRINT
The workshops are also small (max of 3-4 participants) and intimate to maximize your learning experience. The pottery wheel workshops are open to anyone aged 18 years and up.
*There are no make up classes so please make sure the monthly session you choose works with your schedule. All courses are non-refundable.
